Sarah Gallagher was the President of Ralph Lauren North America ecommerce until April 2013. She joined Ralph Lauren Media in 2001. Reporting directly to the Board, Ms. Gallagher was charged with charting a profitable path for RalphLauren.com while fulfilling the brand promise and executing on customer shopping needs. The business became profitable in less than two years and has become an industry leader, consistently outpacing the industry growth rates, achieving close to $400 million in annual revenue by 2012. Ms. Gallagher and the U.S. Digital team then collaborated with the European Digital team to oversee Ralph Lauren’s expansion into the European markets.
Prior to joining Ralph Lauren, Ms. Gallagher was Senior Vice President of Gap Inc. Direct from 1997 to 2001. She was directly responsible for the launch of the Banana Republic Catalog, website, and all aspects of its ecommerce business, including build-out of its fulfillment and contact center in Ohio. Under Ms. Gallagher, Gap and Banana Republic’s ecommerce/catalog revenues combined for annual revenue of $100 million.
Ms. Gallagher has been awarded numerous community recognitions. These include being selected in 2001 as one of the Top 100 Irish-American Business Achievers, and being inducted into the Academy of Women Leaders, NYC chapter of the YWCA, in 2007. Ms. Gallagher has also been involved in numerous philanthropic endeavors. She has served on the Capital Campaign Committee of the East Harlem School and was a contributor to Fairfield University’s “Impact India 2011”, a research project focused on elevating the value of women and girls in Indian society.
She is currently on the board of Abercrombie & Fitch, and sits on both their Nomination and Governance Committee and the Social Responsibility/Sustainability Committee. She was most recently the Executive Chairperson at Rebecca Taylor, a division of Kellwood, where she had driven organizational change, process improvement an Omnichannel strategy to Wholesale and Direct to Consumer.
