Our NRF 2020 The Big Show Recap

We hope NRF2020 The Big Show was successful and full of great learnings for you! Our team had great conversations with some of the over 40,000 people that attended The Big Show this year. We spoke to retailers and brands about their goals and how to help them make the right investment decisions to grow their business. Below, we’ll share what we heard on the show floor and insights from the two Big Ideas sessions our CEO, Bernardine Wu, presented at this year.

Our consultants on the show floor heard a lot of conversations around headless commerce, data management, omnichannel strategy, and how to elevate the shopping experience through personalization and other technologies.

Being that headless commerce was such a hot topic this year, Bernardine’s Big Ideas session with Burrow was a hit! The session focused on how Burrow has been redefining customer profiles through a headless commerce approach and featured insights from Burrow’s Co-Founder and CPO, Kabeer Chopra. We also talked to attendees about compliance. We know everyone is busy with their day jobs, but they shouldn’t let compliance roadblocks like CCPA/GDPR (privacy law) and ADA (web accessibility) derail their 2020 plans. We hosted a booth with our go-to-experts, Truyo and eSSENTIAL Accessibility and were able to have productive conversations around data privacy and web accessibility.

Beyond the conversations at the booth, we also spoke to an audience about web accessibility during our second Big Ideas session. Bernardine spoke with Kent Zimmerman, VP of Digital at Shoe Carnival, and Eric Feinberg, CMO at eSSENTIAL Accessibility, about how Shoe Carnival turned a legal headache into a growth opportunity. Some of our team members also participated in other events during The Big Show. Our Chief Retail Officer, Kathy Kimple, presented the Grocery Omnichannel Retail Index (get your copy here) findings to Grocery and CPG execs. John Coniglio, Senior Consultant, participated on the CIO panel at the NRF Digital Council meeting. Overall, NRF 2020 The Big Show was productive for FitForCommerce!
