Walt Blum is a senior consultant at FitForCommerce, with over 20 years of omnichannel commerce experience, from merchandising to launching ecommerce businesses to all aspects of fulfillment and logistics.
Prior to joining FitForCommerce, Walt was the Director of ecommerce at Orchard Supply Hardware, the largest hardware store chain in California with sales in excess of $650M carrying over 45,000 skus. Brought in to develop and launch their ecommerce business, Walt was responsible for all aspects: website development, vendor selection, contract negotiations, developing the organization, P&L, merchandise assortment, analytics, marketing, inventory management, fulfillment and call center support. In addition, Walt was the VP of Fulfillment Operations at New Vine, the leading service provider in the direct-to-consumer and retail–to–consumer wine industry, providing fulfillment and full service federal and state compliance for over 225 wineries. Prior to that, Walt was Director of ecommerce at Cost Plus World Market, a 295-store, $1B importer and home decor retailer, responsible for developing and launching an e-commerce business from the ground up. Cost Plus realized over 50% YOY increases in the first 5 years of business. Walt was also VP of Operations for RedEnvelope.com, where his responsibilities included logistics, 3PL fulfillment and merchandise planning.

Walt holds a B.A. in Marketing from San Francisco State University.
