Rich is a senior consultant at FitForCommerce, with 20 years of executive level experience at large-scale retailers, particularly in the home categories, with a proven record in strategy, P&L management and organizational leadership in a multichannel environment.
Before joining FitForCommerce, Rich had a long career at Williams-Sonoma. As SVP of Merchandising, Rich had P&L responsibility for the $300+ million direct-to-consumer division (including ecommerce/multichannel and catalog), consistently managing the division to the highest operating contribution percentage of the company. He increased customer loyalty and retention, led strategic corporate cross-brand initiative and oversaw the integration of new concepts and brand extensions, such as Williams-Sonoma Home and Agrarian.
Prior to that, Rich was SVP of Merchandising & Inventory Management at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, where, among other accomplishments, he provided leadership on rebranding, including the relaunch of the website and catalog. Rich started his career as a buyer at Williams-Sonoma and pioneered WSI’s first ecommerce initiative.
At FitForCommerce, Rich has worked on projects for companies such as Revman/Kaltex, Living Spaces Furniture, and Timbuk2.
Rich received his BA from Brown University and his MBA from University of California at Berkeley’s Hass School of Business.
