$148 billion is the estimated online retail sales for 2009 US Dept. of Commerce). And this is only 4% of total retail sales. That means there's a lot of room to grow.

78% of online retailers planned to increase their budget in 2010, according to our FitForCommerce 2009 survey. But spend where? With what objectives?

With all the new and exciting things going on in eCommerce, it is hard to keep up.

New strategies and new technologies, like social and mobile, are being demanded by your customers.
The number of eCommerce vendors and solutions keeps increasing; great for shopping around but so many options make decision-making difficult.
Manufacturers are seeing the opportunity to keep a bigger piece of that eCommerce pie by selling directly to consumers.
Consolidation is occurring; big players are making their move. The purchase of Zappos by Amazon is just a harbinger of things to come.

A lot of opportunities; a lot of decisions. How to spend your investment dollars on the right channels and solutions with the right ROI to make sure your business grows? How to avoid costly mistakes?

Helping you figure all this out is eCommerce Know-How's mission. Our goal is to provide truly useful information to help you cut through the clutter and understand how to best position yourself for success in the marketplace.

The eCommerce market is hot hot hot. It's a good time to make the right investments.

Bernardine Wu, CEO90% of eCommerce practitioners turn to Google to find vital eCommerce information and advice, we found in a recent FitForCommerce survey. But what was also shared was how inefficient it is to hunt and peck amongst dozens and dozens of search results for days on end - reading fifty blogs and fifty articles just to get at a few golden nuggets of specific, actionable info
and advice.

We believe there's a better way. Welcome to eCommerce Know-How. It's not a newsletter - it's a "know" letter.

Our goal is simple: to regularly give you information and advice from experts and peers that you can use to improve your eCommerce business. If you're looking for theoretical and abstract pontification, you're not going to find a lot of that here. Your daily news feed? Not so much.

eCommerce Know-How is intended to fill the void - in the space where rubber meets the road and real eCommerce challenges are addressed and tactical advice is delivered. My hope is that we can be as effective a virtual resource to you as we've been to the hundreds of companies we have consulted and helped over the past few years.

Help us help you. Start a dialogue with us and keep it going. Let us know how we can make Know-How a consistently better resource for you. We'll do our best to deliver time-savers, insights, ah-ha's, how-to's, the occasional raised eyebrow and even a chuckle or two along the way.

Here's to much mutual success
in 2010.
